Yomp, the platform that motivates employees to get fit and healthy, is acquired by Reward Gateway

March 8, 2016

Yomp, the pioneering employee wellbeing startup has been acquired by Reward Gateway, the global leader in employee engagement technology. The multi-award-winning business, launched by Ry Morgan and Anthony Gajou in 2012 has previously been utilised by clients such as Bloomberg, Dentsu Aegis Network and United Utilities.

Yomp’s platform encourages physical activity amongst a company’s workforce using gamification and behavioural economics. The product allows employees to form teams, sync with wearables such as Fitbit and Jawbone, track their stats, and earn rewards or charitable donations for their efforts. The software helps employers create a healthier, happier workforce, and has plans to expand into other areas of wellbeing throughout 2016.

Reward Gateway has been hiring talent from the health and wellness sector for some time and last year persuaded industry heavyweight Lucy Tallick to leave a 16 year career at LA Fitness to head up the company’s wellbeing operation.

Lucy said “We’re delighted that Ry and the team from Yomp have agreed to join us. They’ve got great product vision that we share, huge passion for employee health and it’s a fantastic fit with our own wellbeing plans. Our own product plans are advanced in this area and there’s a great synergy.”

Yomp’s founder Ry Morgan will join the company as Head of Wellbeing Technology and CTO Pascal Gessati is joining as Principle Engineer.

Ry said “Lucy has an amazing roadmap for workplace wellbeing and I’m ecstatic to be a part of it.  Yomp has huge ambitions within this sector and given Reward Gateway’s incredible team, culture and knowledge it is the perfect place to achieve that.”
